I have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new Gaian Tarot Deck for a long time. It should be in my hands in a few more days. It is a limited edition Tarot deck created and sold by Artist Joanna Powell Colbert. Only 1000 copies were produced, most of which have sold within a few months of the listing. I feel blessed to have a copy.
Like many my finances have been limited so I been making monthly installments as a special edition deck handcrafted by the artist can cost up to 3 times more than a regular deck. I was very grateful for this option as an installment plan for a Tarot Deck is not common. So finally my last installment payment has been made and my deck is being shipped. Coincidentally the cards were shipped out on my birthday, June 22.
I must tell you that along with one of my closest friends I have been watching the development of this deck and tracking its progress for the past 3 years or via Joanna's blog. It takes longer than one might imagine, 9 years in this case, to design and create a deck of 78 cards.
Joanna has been called by Amber Lotus Publishing one of the "Most accomplished and well loved artists in the Goddess-Spirit Community". The deck depicts her relationship with nature and the Pacific Northwest community that she lives. One look at any of the cards will reveal that this deck is very special.
I consider the Gaian Tarot a healing deck because of the great love and care which was taken to construct and create it. I am looking forward to doing readings with it. Remember that if you feel drawn to this deck there must be a reason and you can request a reading anytime after July 1.
